At Hilton Brown Swimming, every lesson starts with great technique. From there, we ensure a safe and supportive environment where swimmers are encouraged to grow at their own pace. Please note: Fees are calculated on a cost of $28.75 per lesson (based on number of lessons booked per calendar month, not attendance) and charged on a monthly basis. All fees include GST.
Payment by Direct Debit
Any time of year. Our lessons are not tied to school terms, so your child can start as soon as there is a place in the right class. Get in touch and we will find one that suits.
From three months old. Infant classes run to age 3 with a parent in the water, preschool covers 3 to 5, and school age starts at 5. From there the programme carries on all the way to Mini Squad.
We will work that out with you. Before you book we will ask about your child’s age, how confident they are in the water and what they can already do. A few minutes by phone, email or in person is usually all it takes. Once they start, we assess every lesson, so they move up when they are ready rather than when a term ends.
There is no set number. Every child finds their feet at a different pace. What makes the difference is turning up each week, because confidence, water safety and technique all build on the lesson before.
Most lessons are 30 minutes, once a week. From Stroke 200 up, including adult classes, lessons run 45 to 60 minutes. We will send you the full timetable before you book.
Togs, goggles, a swimming cap and a towel. Infants need a swim nappy as well. That is it.
Yes. Every child is welcome in our programme. Give the Albany team a call before you book so we can talk through what your child needs and find the class and the support that will work best for them.

Yes. Our Albany pool is a purpose built 20 metre indoor pool, heated to 32 degrees all year round.
We are at 17 Volkner Place, Rosedale, North Shore 0751. There is on site parking close to the entrance, so drop off and pick up are easy.
Infant, preschool, school age, stroke development and adult lessons. Whatever stage your swimmer is at, there is a class here for them.
